Resumo:
Convolvulaceae Juss. has cosmopolitan distribution, being well represented in tropical environments, about 2000 species in 59 genera, in all phytogeographical domain, in Brazil prevails in the Caatinga and Cerrado. It is adapted to dry and arid environments, with indices of endemism in these regions, and it has economic, ecological and medicinal properties. Because of its relevance, this project objective to perform a literature review in online databases to highlight the occurrence of its members in the state of Paraíba. The data collection was carried via digital platforms Scielo, Google Scholar, Flora do Brasil, SpeciesLink, Reflora, Portal do CAPES and other basis of virtual herbaria available. From this retrieval a list was produced containing incidence information on genera and species, habit, origins and endemism taxa of Convolvulaceae in the state. As results, were found 123 species distributed at 14 genera, which Ipomoea L. stand out with 49 species, followed by the genera Jacquemontia Choisy. (24 ssp.) and Evolvulus L. (19 ssp.). Regarding the habit, was obtained 54% climbings, 22% herbs, 5% shrubs and/or undershrub and 19% had no information about their habits. Among the cataloged species, 85 are native to Brazil, 24 of them endemic and Dichondra micranta Urb., Ipomoea batatas L. (Lam), Ipomoea parasítica (Kuth) G., are native to the Brazilian territory. The study was structured in view of the favorable conditions of the área, like hot and dry weather and the scarcity of studies about the family, to be able to subsidize social and scientific benefits, as well as highlighting the vast diversity and incidence of Convolvulaceae in Paraíba. Besides, will serve as an excellent scientific research source for those who carry out works with this family and/or region, for containing important and necessary information for the floristic foundation.
