Résumé:
The use of plants for medicinal purposes, for treatment, prevention and cure of diseases, is one of the
oldest forms of medicai practice of mankind. This paper aims to evaluate the importance of medicinal
plants in the school in the opinion of teachers and students of the Primary School Tenente Titico
Gomes in São José de Espinharas - PB. The survey was conducted with two groups: one group
consisting of three classes of the 9th year of elementary school totaling 28 respondents: 09 studying in
the morning, 12 in the afternoon and 07 in the form of Youth and Adults at night. The second group of
elementary school teachers, a total of 26 respondents. The study was conducted through a field
survey of a quantitative-descriptive by applying a structured questionnaire with students and teachers
of both sexes, seeking to identify the diverse aspects related to medicinal plants in the school
environment in the design of interviewed. It was found that the approach of medicinal plants in the
school routine is still insufficient and gives only an ad hoc basis in Science lessons, which demonstrate
that by this school there is little appreciation of the subject.
