Environmental Education is a continuous learning process seeking to inform and raise
awareness of attitudes to develop ecological and socially sustainable paid between them and
the environment. Attitude is an important part of the affective and skills can be taught and
perceived. Similarly, can be influenced by the cognitive, motivational and emotional and
many researchers seek measurement techniques and promotion of attitudinal changes. The
aim of this study was to evaluate and classify the profile of teachers in various educational
areas (exact, human, natural and Portuguese), six public schools in high school in the city of
Pathos- PB regarding their environmental practices within the schools and in the social sphere
in which they live. The evaluation of ecological and attitude of teachers was done through the
development and application of a questionnaire consisting of 75 questions. It was built on the
model of Liker scale with five levels of responses grouped into four dimensions: Social and
Environmental Practices in School (Dl),' Environmental Education in Practice Teaching
professor (D2); Knowledge professor of Environmental Thematic (D3); Teacher Social and
Environmental Practices (D4). The questionnaire was validated by assessing its reliability and
internal consistency, with excellent overall Cronbach coefficient a equal to 0.95. The
dimensions also showed values very satisfactory Cronbach a: D l = 0.83, D2 = 0.93, D3 = D4
'- 0.85 and 0.82. Teachers interviewed (N = 59) showed great variability in age (19-63 years)
and teaching time (1-29 years), and that 64.6 % of them have graduated in the last 10 years
(2003-2013) . The questions presented great variation in the response and consequently the
score between them and among different levels of scale. The average rank of the teachers
interviewed varied between 156 and 318pontos. Linguistically, the teachers were grouped in
the following classification of general attitude: negative (30,41%), conflict (61,02%) and
positive (8,47%). The data reveal that high school teachers of the city Public Pathos- PB.
They exhibit predominantly negative attitudes on the dimensions investigated, suggesting that
possess knowledge and/or attitudes still inadequate for teaching environmental education to
high school students. Probably students are completing their basic education without adequate
environmental education to be citizens more environmentally sustainable and/or with little
knowledge critical multipliers need to be citizens of a more harmonious living with the
Environment Environmental.
