Resumo:
The environmental perception united to environmental education is the basic tool to establish
a mutual relationship between man and the environment, in order to minimize the impacts
caused by the misuse of resources that the society provides. Thus, this paper analyzes the
thinking that concern the environment of students which are starting and ending the
Elementary and High School a in two schools in the town of Catingueira, in the dry area of
Paraiba. The results of the survey was established through detailed questionnaires between
socio-demographic profile of the respondent, as well as revealing how students perceive the
current environment around them. In the classes chosen for application forms, set up 167
students in elementary school, 98 students are into the 6th grade and 69 in the 9th grade and
124 high school students, 58 students in the 1st grade and 66 students of 3th grade. According
to the results is the fact that students in grades show interviewed have insight about the
environment around them, and to fit in as an integral part thereof. It is also necessary that
there be a link between disciplines, making room for discussions and debates facing
environmental actions, so these questions to encourage pupils and multiple knowledge that
refer to familiarize yourself with using force, thus allowing the interest in preserving and take
care of the space that welcomes and provides them a better life. Thus, it is up to schools to
broaden the views of the student body in order to form citizens thinking and united society,
able to be able to identify their actions and assignments to minimize environmental impacts
and so distinctly to preserve the resources that ensure life full future generations.
