Résumé:
Patos city is located in Paraiba backwoods, in the region of Espinharas. Semiarid
climate, it is located 301 km ² of capital João Pessoa, and stands out for its relief, characterized
by the presence of inselbergs, literally "island mountain". Are outcrops of granitic rocks and
Precambrian gneiss expressing the erosive wear suffered over the paleoclimatic history of a
region. The inselbergs constitute peculiar ecosystems where the vegetation that develops on the
rock differentiate itself of that it occurs in its surrounding area, as in floristic aspects and as in
physiognomic aspects. This paper is a taxonomic study of species of monocots in nine
inselbergs this municipality with the primary objective of contributing to a better knowledge of
the flora of these ecosystems in the bush. Biweekly botanical collections of flowering and / or
fruiting specimens were performed over a period of a year and a half, using the dry and wet
collection methods and usual herborization in botany stations. 09 families, 16 genus and 17
species were found, where the major abundance of species was registered for families Poaceae
Barnhart (6 spp.) and Commelinaceae Mirb. (4 spp.), then Amarylidaceae J. St.-Hil., Araceae
Juss., Bromeliaceae Juss., Cyperaceae Juss., Dioscoreaceae R. Br., Iridaceae Juss. and
Velloziaceae J. Agardh, with only one species of each one. The work include, identification
keys, for the species Commelinaceae and Poaceae. Descriptions, illustrations and geographic
distribution data are provided for all the species.
