The meaning of death for the child varies according to their chronological age, the bond
established with the deceased, the moment of their psychological and intellectual
development, life experiences, in addition to how the adult, with whom they live, deals
with the loss. In this perspective, one of the ways to create a dialogue with the child
about death is through playful activities, among comic books (HQ). The present
research has the general objective of building and validating a comic book about the
communication of death for children. This is methodological research, of technological
development, with a quantitative approach, which was carried out in three stages,
namely: 1) literature review; 2) construction of the educational technology and 3)
validation of the material by judges. To methodologically support the comic book
construction stages, adaptations were made to the steps and sub-steps that make up the
process of producing comics, described by Botomé (2009) and Oliveira (2018). Data
were generated and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS)
version 20.0 for Windows and grouped into absolute numbers and percentages, allowing
for their interpretation and descriptive quantitative explanation. Data analysis was
performed using the following statistical test: Content Validity Index (CVI), to verify
the apparent validity. The present research respected the ethical aspects of research
involving human beings, recommended by Resolution 466/2012 of the National Health
Council - Ministry of Health and the Curricular Letter of No. 2 of February 24, 2021,
which regulates the guidelines and recommendations for procedures in research
involving human beings in a virtual environment. Ten judges participated in the
evaluation, in this perspective, two Delphi rounds were carried out to evaluate the three
dimensions worked in the HQ, namely: Objective, obtaining CVI 0.95, Structure and
Presentation, obtaining 0.84 and Relevance obtaining 0.84 during the first Delphi round.
During the second Delphi round, after making the changes suggested by the judges,
there was an improvement in the CVI results of the dimensions. The Objective
dimension obtained a CVI of 0.95, Structure and Presentation, 0.95, and Relevance,
0.95, a result considered excellent by the literature. It is believed that validated HQ
technology can bring significant contributions to the field of education and health,
especially to the area of palliative care regarding the communication of difficult news to
children, also contributing to the awareness of nursing professionals for adoption. of
humanized practices. These aspects contribute to the quality of education and health
services, in addition to improving the relationship between the professional (teacher
and/or health professional), the child and the parents.
