Resumen:
This work had as main objective to use the 5s management tools in a mechanic shop in the city of Pombal - PB, in order to identify the main waste generated in the mechanic shop, show how the actions placed by the 5s management program can improve the organizational aspects of a mechanic shop and compare the before and after use of the 5s management tool. Such tools involve a set of components that integrate an organization, providing a comfortable, pleasant, organized, clean, profitable and sustainable environment. In methodological terms, this research was developed in a mechanical workshop in the city of Pombal - PB, with a bibliographic approach and field investigation, becoming an exploratory study, with the researcher participating in all phases of the research, from the identification of the situation -problem in the development of the implementation stages of the proposed solution. The qualitative and quantitative research was also characterized as descriptive and exploratory. The results showed that with the use of 5s management tools it was possible to obtain a series of necessary improvements and adaptations to the enterprise. It was found that the main waste generated by the workshop are packaging, used parts and oils, tires, wires, bushings, flannels, fuels and solvents. From the actions applied by the 5s management program, it was possible to obtain a different view of the enterprise and the workshop became more organized and productive, achieving an advance in the services provided, saving time and having a considerable advance in the development of activities. Thus, it can be verified that the management methodologies adopted in this work are of good applicability within the selected field, which reveals that they meet the initial objectives proposed by the work.
