Résumé:
In small farms, farmers usually have financial and space restrictions, which brings the need to
optimize resources for the best use of the crop. Moreover, traditional agriculture promotes
several problems, such as degradation and decreased productivity. In this sense, sustainable
planting, which encompasses the three pillars of sustainability (social, financial, and
environmental), reconciles the care for the environment with the concern for productivity,
becoming a way to promote monetary improvements with environmental protection policies
for farmers. Thus, the present research proposes a multicriteria
decision support model that
employs PROMETHEE II to determine sustainable planting strategy on farms. The proposed
model defines which planting strategy the farmer should use, considering several criteria
related to the pillars of sustainability. In this context, the main advantages of the system are:
structured and objective decision making, considering several criteria, which can be
qualitative or quantitative, the facilitation of planting management and the increase of
productivity and profitability of rural properties, respecting the pillars of sustainability.
