Abstract:
The main objective of this research is to understand how comics can help in the development of learning in a playful and pleasurable way, seeking to awaken new skills in relation to the student's cognitive development process, thus promoting a better construction of geographic concepts, having as field of study the class of the 9th year of elementary school of the State School of Elementary and High School Antônio Francisco Duarte, located in the city of Triunfo-PB. In this way, we sought to overcome the difficulties in the teaching-learning process
of Geography, based on the use of comics, as well as the importance of comics in the mediation of teaching. The methodology used is of a qualitative nature, focusing on understanding and deepening knowledge about the phenomena from the participants' perception, thus making a connection with the reality that surrounds them. In this study, an approach called action research was used, which requires a participatory relationship between the researcher and the participants characteristic of the studied context, which aims to increase the researcher's knowledge as well as the participants' level of understanding. Among the results achieved are the work with comics that helps in the understanding of Geographic contents, encouraging creativity, autonomy and criticality of students.
