Abstract:
A esthetic health, as an area of knowledge and intervention, has been on the rise in
order to meet the needs of consumers who seek improvements in their appearance. In
this context, there is a need for qualified professionals in this interventional area, aware
of the constant technological changes in products and aesthetic procedures, to
satisfactorily meet the expectations of the portion of the population that demands this
type of service. Considering aesthetic health as an emerging area in the pharmacist's
performance, it is important to understand how the professional has appropriated this
important field in health. Based on this, this work aims to demonstrate the contribution
of the pharmacist in the area of aesthetic health, under the norms and resolutions and
legislation in force in the area. An integrative literature review was carried out with
materials published between 2015 and 2022 consulted in the following databases:
Medline, Pubmed, Lilacs, Scielo, Google Scholar and national and international health
committees. Delimiting terms and their combinations were used for the search: 1)
aesthetic pharmacist; 2) Aesthetic procedures; 3) aesthetics; 4) Aesthetic health; 6)
Action of the pharmacist. Data collection took place from January to July 2022. Initially,
90 articles were identified, of which 33 articles were pre-selected, with 12 articles being
elected, which had relevant and current information regarding the topic. The results
showed that pharmacists play a fundamental role in the performance of aesthetic
health, and given the emergence of aesthetic health as an area of knowledge and
intervention, there is a growth in professional training and the job market. The aesthetic
market has been rising gradually, and the pharmaceutical professional is different in
aesthetic health care, due to his training path, which shows a range of necessary and
useful knowledge in the area, providing safety to the patient who undergoes a
procedure of this nature.
