Abstract:
The method by which the teacher teaches and the way in which he evaluates learning is the
first condition to guide a good educational process. The student must be led to think, seek new
ways, resources to achieve knowledge and the teacher is an essential part of this evaluation
process. Identify evaluative methods that can provide the teacher with an evaluation form that
escapes traditional and outdated methods, seeking instruments that facilitate and address the
concept of evaluation in an innovative and efficient way for teaching practice with the
immersion of technology in the classroom. Bearing this in mind, the objective of this work is
to investigate ways of assessing learning during the COVID19 pandemic in mathematics
teaching. This analysis was developed through the conceptions that mathematics teachers in
basic education have about the use of technologies for evaluation in the mathematics discipline,
as well as which evaluation methods they deem important and which they use for the evaluation
practice with students during the period remote. Thus, in order to obtain data, a qualitative-
exploratory research was carried out through questionnaires applied to mathematics teachers
from public schools located in the 4th GRE (Regional Management of Education) in the state
of Paraiba-PB. Through this study, it was possible to verify the view of evaluation as an
instrument for measuring student learning through technological methods, it still does not bring
security to some teachers, most still use traditional assessment methods. Furthermore, the
relationship between the quality of student learning and teaching work was pointed out as
established through evaluation, also highlighting the importance of using experimental
practices as an evaluation tool for students.
