The present study focuses on analyzing violence against women and the prevention of gender violence in the State of Paraíba, based on public policies to combat violence against women. Indeed, it is inferred that such public policies are carried out in an articulated way by the various bodies, through the Service Network, which ranges from primary care, provided by the Military Police, and according to need, the referral of the victim to the specific services provided. by the vast protection network made up of DEAMs, Support Centers, Hospitals, Special Courts, Prosecutors, among others. Certainly, despite the alarming numbers of women victims of violence, the State of Paraíba has advanced positively in the creation and implementation of public policies focused on gender diversity, carrying out differentiated actions aimed at the care and protection of women. To achieve the research objectives, the deductive method of approach was used, the comparative and evolutionary historical method of procedure, and the bibliographic and documentary research technique. The research addresses the historical and evolutionary context of violence against women, the creation of the Maria da Penha Law, domestic violence in a time of pandemic. Then it deals with protection and assistance programs for women victims of violence, through the various institutional bodies created with the aim of forming a network of care and protection for women victims of gender violence in the municipalities of the State of Paraíba. It is seen that violence against women is a harsh reality to be fought with rigor. The study provided an overview of developments in the field of women's social protection, especially in relation to the need to curb, prevent and treat cases of domestic and family violence. In addition to evaluating the daily problems of interprofessional work with the care network for women who suffer or have already suffered some type of violence, emphasizing the importance of the role of the women's care network in confronting and combating gender violence in the State of Paraíba.
