Knowing the value of inputs and studying their variations is essential to ensure greater savings when building. Currently, there are several databases with costs for civil construction, where SINAPI (National System for Research on Civil Construction Costs and Indexes) is considered the main database used for this purpose. Another index that varies according to the corresponding civil construction inputs is the INCC (National Construction Cost Index). Therefore, the present work has the main objective to compare the costs of civil construction inputs, in the state of Paraíba, for the month of April 2018 until the month of April 2022, being prepared with prices and compositions of SINAPI, in order to to ascertain whether the variation in the values of the SINAPI items is consistent with the INCC rate. Its elaboration process requires from data collection, going through the variation calculations until we reach the final comparison between the 2 databases. For this, in this analysis, data on the costs of inputs provided by SINAPI, for the state of Paraíba, were used. The data collected by the INCC, on the other hand, were calculated using compound interest, showing the value of its variation between the months of April of each year. Soon after the SINAPI and INCC variations were subjected to a comparative procedure, allowing to find as results, a similar variation between the period from 2018 to 2021 and a significant increase in the value of inputs in the interval between 2021 and 2022. Finally, as In conclusion, it was determined from these final data that the SINAPI data remain faithful to the INCC until the year 2021, since between the year 2021 and 2022 there was a large discrepancy between them.
