Resumen:
The textual genre is a rich instrument for language teaching, because it is through texts that communication takes place in the various discursive practices in society. Among the immense variety of genres to be worked on at school, there is the textual genre news, from which a work proposal will be presented, evidencing its structure, language, verbal and non-verbal, and coherence. Thus, the general objective of this work is to present a pedagogical proposal with the textual genre news for Portuguese Language classes in High School. The idea was based on an experience in a High School in the city of Cajazeiras-PB, in partnership with UFCG, from the Pedagogical Residence Project – Portuguese Language Subproject, in the April to September 2021 edition. The theoretical foundation is based on discussions by Soares (2009; 2010), to address school literacy, Marcuschi (2008) to conceptualize textual genres, based on Schneuwly and Dolz (2004), to support the pedagogical proposal, in Rojo and Moura (2019), to deal with multimedia literacies and in the National Curricular Common Base (BNCC, 2018). This research is characterized as bibliographical and documentary. According to Gil (2002), a study carried out in stages through a bibliographic survey and based on documents. As a result of the research, Portuguese language teaching is more dynamic and closer to the reality of students. Based on this result, we consider that a more fruitful Portuguese language teaching practice is possible with the use of the news textual genre.
