The present research focuses on the teaching of grammar and linguistic analysis in Portuguese classes in the context of elementary school. Thus, the aim of this research is to analyze how the teaching of grammar/linguistic analysis is proposed, in didactic support materials, with a view to producing didactic material for the Portuguese language teacher in an enunciative language perspective. To achieve this goal, we set out as specific objectives: a) to discuss the concept of language and teaching grammar/linguistic analysis in the light of contemporary linguistic research; b) to investigate and describe grammar teaching practices in textbooks, in particular, subject and predicate content, c) to present an intervention proposal for the PL teacher based on the work with the subject and predicate grammatical content on the basis of a productive teaching approach according to the exploration of the axis of linguistic analysis. The research is classified as descriptive, with a qualitative approach, according to the guidelines of Prodanov and Freitas (2013), furthermore, it is documentary research, because we take as corpus for investigation the book Língua Portuguesa: Ensino Fundamental – anos finais of the collection Geração Alpha by authors Cibele Lopresti Costa, Everaldo Nogueira and Greta Marchetti. The theoretical foundation is based on the study of linguistic analysis by Bezerra and Reinaldo (2013) and Mendonça (2006); from the perspective of the contextualized grammar of Antunes (2014), in addition to the guidelines of the official document that guides education, the National Common Curricular Base (Base Nacional Comum Curricular) (BRASIL, 2018). The results show that, despite the advances arising from the publication of official documents and research carried out in the area of linguistic analysis, the teaching of Portuguese language still has remnants of traditional teaching anchored in the recognition and classification of nomenclatures in the light of the normative grammatical approach. Aiming to contribute to the teaching of Portuguese in basic education, at the end of the work, a didactic sequence was presented involving the subject and predicate content on the discursive perspective of the language.
