Resumo:
This dissertation problematizes the daily life of the Associação dos Ferroviários de Sousa-PB
in the Estação neighborhood, in the interior of Paraíba, from 1988 to 1996. through the analysis
of the Minutes of the Association of Railway Workers of Sousa. With them, we aim to
investigate the space of political and social articulation in view of a moment of privatization
and closure of branches. of power. Methodologically, we also use newspapers, Posture codes,
Minutes of the City Council that allow us to problematize the Estação neighborhood and the
daily life of the city in its structural changes, sociability territories and the relationship with the
Railway Station / Association. In this way, when we came into contact with the experience of
railway workers, the theoretical-methodological choice was outlined. The main motto was to
think of the Association as a space of resistance, a concept that we find in A domination and
the art of resistance and in The formation of the working class, with which, they sharpened our
senses to understand each step taken by the working class. by following a path in the struggle
for survival that fostered the acquisition of experience necessary for the formation of class
consciousness. From there, we hope to demonstrate these mechanisms of resistance throughout
the text, not necessarily in a direct confrontation with the dominator, but a silent resistance
marked by hidden discourse.
