Libras na educação de surdos no ensino fundamental: análises das orientações curriculares dos estados do Nordeste brasileiro.

Abstract

The Brazilian Sign Language, Libras, was official lyrec ognized as the mother tongue used by the deaf community in Brazil in 2020 and, with that, several educational documents of this linguistic system we reapplie din school practices. Among these documents, we cite the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC), a normative document for education, which, in linewith Decree No. 5.626/2005 and Law No. 13.146/2015, guides the use and dissemination of Libras in pedagogical activities and in information and teaching materials.The refore, this research has the general objective of analyzing the existing guidelines for the teaching of Libras in the official education documents that guide the practices of elementary school teachers in the North eastern states of Brazil. The methodology used in this research was a bibliographic approach to identify the discussions about the teaching of Libras and inclusion in education and, then, a document analysis was carried out in the official documents available on the internet that guide the teaching of Libras in the North east ern states.In view of this, the research corpus consists of nine curricular guidance documents, from the nine states of the North east ern that were published be tween the years 2018 and 2020.The documents referto inclusion in regular school sand guide the inclusion of Libras in teaching activities of that languageor as a mediator of other activities developed by the teachers.In summary, most states in the Northeastern follow the guid e lines of the the Common National Curriculum Base, including the teaching of Libras in elementary school as a subjectin the language discipline in regular classrooms, in addition to being worked in the Specialized Educational Service class room swith activities developed to deaf students.
