Abstract:
The present research focuses on Neuroscience, reading and the integral development of the child and, as a general objective, to investigate the contribution of Neuroscience to the acquisition of reading with a view to the integral child development. In this investigation, it was asked how Neuroscience can contribute to the process of reading acquisition and integral child development. As for the methodological course, it is a research of a basic nature, with an exploratory character and a qualitative approach. An action research, carried out with a 4yearold child. The data production instruments were the field diary. Results: the study carried out allowed us to conclude that information from Neuroscience, when put into educational practice, potentiates the process of learning to read. Since the external stimuli intentionally offered to the child, by the researcher, triggered internal stimuli that allowed the development of attention, concentration, orality, memory, empathy, expansion of the child's vocabulary universe and, above all, the awakening of the taste for reading.
