Resumen:
The present research aims to: investigate the existence or not of child labor in Cajazeiras-PB and if it has na impact on the teaching-learning process of children from 5 to 10 yearsold, taking into account the experiences and difficulties faced by children who are victims of child labor, their relatives, educators and society. To support the study in question, we were based on authors and theorists such as: Dewey (1970, 1979), Freire (1996), Bourdieu (1998), Pistrak (2011), Arce (2002), among others. We also had documentary support that seek to guarantee the rights of children in relation to labor issues and, mainly, the right to a quality education, as: ECA (1990), CF (1998), LDB (1996), RCNEIs (1998), OIT (1919, 1999), BNCC (2018), among others. The research had a qualitative aproach, based on bibliography and field research. A Questionnaire was used for data collection, applied to two teachers and a tutor counselor, both from the city of Cajazeiras -PB, which collaborated with their perspectives on the topic. To analyze the results obtained, we were based on the Content Analysis (CA) developed by Bardin (2016), as well as the authors for the substantiation of the theoretical chapters. As a result of the questionnaires sent to the teachers, we can highlight their considerations according to the reality in the classroom, emphasizing the importance of education for the children’s educational process and pointing out the impasses that child labor can cause in child development. The tutor counselor, on the other hand, reported his knowledge related to the legislation and regulations that help to combat and intervene in the practice of child labor in the city of Cajazeiras-PB, supported by his work environment and the documents necessary for the implementation of the rights guaranteed to children.
