Resumen:
This work proposes deal with the development of reading competence in the early years, presenting methodological procedures to be used by teachers to help students with reading difficulties. When considering the data from the Functional Literacy Indicator-Inaf (2018), a high rate of illiteracy in Brazil is evident, which was considered in order to seek to contribute to mitigating these numbers. Thus, the research problem is: How to contribute to the construction of the reading competence of students of Elementary School I from the perspective of literacies? The general objective of the work is to investigate how to contribute to the development of reading competence of students of Elementary School I, from the perspective of literacies. The research is of a bibliographic nature, with a qualitative approach. Authors such as Kleiman (2005), Cagliari (1990), Martins (1997), Freitas (2012), Rolim-Moura (2020), Magalhães and Machado 2012) were used as a basis for the construction of the theoretical framework. It is estimated that this study can contribute to the continuing education of teachers and, through the methodologies presented, help in the process of developing students' reading.
