Abstract:
In the current global scenario, we are experiencing a historic moment due to the health crisis that arose due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, thus affecting the various social spheres. Thus, educational institutions needed to reinvent themselves and consequently adhere to emergency remote education. In this context, discussions about education were expanded, also involving the education of the deaf here in Brazil. In this conception, this work has as a general objective to expose the effectiveness in
the skill of digital pedagogical games adapted in Libras for deaf education, through gamification, for the teaching of Brazilian Sign Language as a first language (L1) for deaf students. To this end, we discuss the importance of gamification in teaching Brazilian Sign Language in the education of deaf subjects, in a bilingual perspective, in addition to the importance, performance and contributions that games adapted in Libras can provide. Theoretically, this research is based on Strobel (2009) about the history of deaf education, Neves and Quadros (2018) with their reflections on contact with the first and second language (L1 and L2), Coscarelli (2009) about the digital age, Fadel (2014) where he addresses gamification, among others. It is worth mentioning that this research points favorable means to teachers, who will be the users, and to those interested in knowing how the process of planning, development and implementation of the digital game applied in remote modality occurred, highlighting the perception that we obtained where the teaching of Brazilian Sign Language as a first language (L1), through gamification, presents significant contributions in deaf education, besides offering resources for teachers to work in their classes in a more attractive and dynamic way, aiming to build critical citizens. Finalizing this research, we created an adapted game in Libras with the help of gamification to highlight this concept.
