Abstract:
The present work had as object of investigation the motivation of reading in the municipal school of Joca Claudino city, PB. The general objective of that research was to analyze how the teachers of the municipal school motivate the practice of reading in the school context. In terms of the methodological course, the first part of the research was the bibliographic survey that sought theoretical support from the following authors: Freire (1987), Rocco (1996), Maia (1998), Solé (1998), Martins (2004), Cagliari (2009), Kleiman (2013), among others. The study is characterized as a field research, with an exploratory character and a qualitative approach.For the data collection and analysis, was done an interview with four school teachers, who teach in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade classes.In the data analysis, the teachers' answers about the investigated theme are recorded; the analyzes were carried out based on authors, such as: Lerner (2002), Zilberman (2005), Fonseca (2012) e Laguna (2012). As for the results, the research allowed us to conclude that reading is motivated at school where this investigation was accomplished.The teachers are aware of how important reading is for the lives of students, and also about the importance of create the habit of reading in the class, as all of them reported that they motivate reading daily in the classroom, using different methodologies as an incentive.
