Resumo:
The present study comprised investigating the sustainable bidding and family farming in the Municipality of São Bentinho-PB, and whether they can be considered as a factor for local social, economic and environmental development. For this, the biddings that fit into the concept of sustainability carried out in that municipality were analyzed, besides first outlining the concepts of sustainability and legal principles guiding the theme, investigating the amounts spent on the purchase of food from local family farming, and whether there is demand to meet the needs of the PNAE, fulfilling its requirements on the food acquisition floor acquired from this agricultural segment. In the results and discussions I described the foods produced by local family farmers and confirmed in the research that these supply all the needs of the Municipality of São Bentinho as to the acquisition of these foods for the PNAE, in addition to the fact that the Municipality in question invests above the floor required in that program, 30%, in the purchase of foods from Family Farming. Finally, the objective of the work was met and the problem was confirmed in the sense that it proves that investment in Sustainable Bidding and Family Farming in the municipality of São Bentinho, which can be copied by other municipalities, is a factor of great importance for the sustainable, economic, social and environmental development of the municipality and the region, as long as there are public incentives, specialized consulting services and vigorous family farming, the latter being derived and developed from the first two.
