Resumen:
With the arrival of the pandemic, came the difficulties that society has been facing, the world
has suffered social, economic, cultural, political and education impacts. The impact caused on
education by the pandemic is directly related to the closure of educational institutions,
including elementary and higher schools. Within this pandemic scenario, education had to
reinvent itself with a new form of teaching, putting into practice the use of remote classes,
thus being a challenge for teachers and students. Thus, this work aims to investigate the
concept of education in the bill 5595/20 for the teaching category in Paraíba. The present
study developed has as methodology a bibliographic review, followed by a search in the
Scielo database on education as essential x priority, soon after, a search was carried out on the
SINTEP website and on the CNTE in search of opinions related to the Project. Of Law
5595/20. According to the results obtained, it is clear that all bodies linked to education are
totally against PL5595, in which, placing education in our current society as an essential
service for the population, even in the midst of a pandemic scenario. However, we cannot say
that education is not essential to the population, however, we must analyze in which situation
education was imposed as an essential service.
