Resumen:
Technology enabled a new direction of organizational practices and strategies strengthened by
the intensified use of the internet, leading to the development of new tools and means of
communication that resulted in the transformation of managerial reality. Thus, the study aims
to analyze the use of social media in the recruitment and selection processes of a consulting
company in Paraiba. For this, a case study was carried out, with a qualitative-quantitative
approach, with a descriptive and exploratory character. The application of the questionnaire,
with 14 questions, involved 04 managers responsible for selection processes in the consultancy.
The results showed greater adoption of social media LinkedIn and Instagram, the first being
perceived as less interaction by the public, in addition to the perception of enabling ease of
access and cost reduction, however, the large number of inappropriate applications for the
vacancy profile and better response to certain positions at organizational levels, were also
evidenced. In view of the results, a targeted analysis is proposed about the use of LinkedIn as
the main tool and techniques suitable for positions not reached through social media.
