Resumo:
The Happy Child Program emerged as an important tool of an intersectoral nature, to
promote adequate, integral and quality development, based on home visits carried out by
visitors. Therefore, the objective was to apprehend the repercussions of the Covid-19
pandemic on child development and on the actions of PCF visitors. This is a qualitative,
exploratory-descriptive research, anchored in Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Theory of
Human Development. Eight visitors from the Happy Child Program participated in the
study, from a city in Curimataú, Paraíba. Data collection was carried out from January to
June 2021, based on an interview script, which were recorded. For data processing, the
software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de
Questionnaires, version 0.7 alpha 2, was used, and the textual analysis was performed
using the Descending Hierarchical Classification proposed by Reinert's method. The
results were expressed in two categories: 1. Performance of the visitors of the Criança
Feliz Program to promote child development; 2. Difficulties faced in carrying out actions
to promote child development during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study made it
possible to understand the repercussions of the pandemic, such as negative feelings, the
child's attachment to screens, as well as the breaking of the bond with the professional.
Therefore, it is necessary to create strategies that make the virtual environment effective,
promote the role of parents/caregivers in child development, and thus can overcome the
identified barriers, as well as the development of a continuous/permanent study program
to this audience.
