Resumo:
Alfalfa has a high production of dry matter, high quality and high protein content, which makes it play an important role in improving the quality of animal diets used in tropical regions. The objective was to evaluate the production of fresh and dry mass of nine cultivars of alfalfa (Medigado sativa L.) under soil and climate conditions of Sertão Paraibano. The experimental design used will be in randomized blocks, with a simple factorial scheme, referring to nine alfalfa cultivars, with four replications, totaling 36 experimental units. each repetition will consist of five rows with 2.5 m spaced by 1 m with an area of 12.5 m2 per repetition, totaling 450 m2. The preparation of the area will consist of a plowing and two harrowing. After preparing the area, a composite sample of the soil will be collected for further chemical and physical characterization of the soil. With the analytical results in hand and the need to be verified, liming will be carried out in order to correct the pH of the soil, then the foundation fertilization (planting) will be carried out with phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen and with micronutrients. At the end of each cycle, the growth of alfalfa species will be evaluated, and the total fresh and dry mass will be determined; of the stem and the leaf, and with that to determine the humidity of the cultivars. Where, U = PF – the PS; U = wet; PF = fresh weight and PS = dry weight. The Crioula genotype presented greater potential for production of fresh and dry weight when compared to the other genotypes, thus it is an excellent alternative when compared to genotypes considered tolerant.
