O trabalho no setor de tecnologia da informação: um estudo com estudantes e profissionais do município de Campina Grande - PB.

Abstract

With the technological and digital advancement in contemporary society, the use of new technologies has become constant in the application and use of different sectors and segments of society. With the emergence of new digital demands, it has been necessary to hire qualified professionals from the Information Technology (IT) sector. Considering the IT industry scenario in recent years, there was a great expansion of investments and hiring of labor, which reveals a positive scenario and a great demand for professionals. For this Course Conclusion Work, we defined, as a general objective, to analyze the current dynamics of the world of work with an emphasis on the IT industry and the modality of home office work at the national and regional levels and in the city of Campina GrandePB, carrying out comparisons to understand the differences and similarities of IT work. As specific objectives, we seek to characterize the IT industry, analyze the job market for professionals in the area, check the profile of students and IT workers, the insertion in the job market, conditions and work environment, as well as analyze the advantages and disadvantages of working from home. To achieve these objectives, we conducted current bibliographic research on the subject, in addition to the collection of primary and secondary data. 31 interviews were carried out through an online form with students and IT professionals from Campina Grande, and secondary data were obtained through information from accredited organizations in the sector. The results achieved in the research were some reflections about how working from home impacts the personal and professional lives of these workers, such as, for example, the intensification of work (including for qualified professionals), the lack of sociability and the lack of adequate infrastructure for carrying out work in the domestic environment, which has been affecting the physical and psychological health of workers.
