Resumo:
The Territorial Development is configured by a strategy adopted for the Brazilian
Secretariat o f Territorial/SDT Development o f the Ministry o f Public Works and the
Agrarian Economy/MDA, and objective to solve the rural conflicts (economic, socialpolitic,
ethnic-cultural and ambient) by the Territorial Development, and that it counts with
the participation o f a gamma o f some entities to the social agricultural movements. The
Union Movement o f the Rural Workers/MSTTR gave an important contribution in the
process o f construction o f the territories, guaranteeing and supporting in the
formularization, planning, implementation and monitoring o f public politics towards to the
territorial development. In case o f State o f Sergipe, considering the implantation o f Dom
Helder Câmara’s Project/PDHC in region that is configured the territory o f Alto Sertão, and
institutional arrangements stimulated by the social movements, in attempt to turn it
dynamic and potential the productive processes developed by seated and familiar farmers,
the SDT understood that this micron-region had a territorial identity and started to support
and to fortify the existing dynamic ones. However in this Territory, Alto Sertão sergipano,
is real the necessity o f a formative process, so that the Union have a bigger awareness and
conception o f the importance to participate o f discussions in spaces that the same ones
occupy, placing proposals that really are important for the improvement o f quality o f life o f
rural workers.
