Resumen:
The work highlights the importance of democratic-participatory management for quality teaching and learning in public schools. Interest in the subject arose with the following question: what can school management do to improve teaching and learning in public schools? Is there a type of management that would support the practice of management with better quality? The general objective is: To analyze the ways in which democratic-participatory management in public schools can contribute to the quality of student learning. And the specific objectives: To elaborate a literature review about democratic-participatory management and its imbrications in the quality of student learning; conceptually circumscribe the learning quality category; Identify by which factors teaching and learning take place and their challenges in relation to quality student learning; Reflect on the social function of public schools and how democratic-participatory management can contribute to the achievement of such a function. In the theoretical framework, books that talk about school management, public school, participation, democratic school management and the social function of the school were analyzed, with authors such as Libâneo (2018), Luck (2011), Paro (2016) and Freire (2021). Bibliographic research was used, of a basic nature and with a qualitative approach. In view of all the analysis of the works, it was concluded that democratic-Participative management.
