Resumo:
Among natural elements, water is indispensable for all living beings’ survival, and is also
used in most of the daily activities carried out by man. Therefore, in order to ensure the
supply of good quality water resources for human consumption, the National
Environment Council (CONAMA), through the Consolidation Ordinance No. 5 of
September 28, 2017, has settled specific parameters of water potability. This casts
attention on the importance of monitoring water quality, with the aim of defining which
water sources are in adequate situation according to each type of use. However, one
can observe the need and the lack of mechanisms that collect and make this data
available in Paraíba. In this sense, this work has developed a tool for a mobile
application, based on Android platform, named “Acquali”. The purpose of the tool is to
collect the data on the water potability of the watersheds of Paraíba for better
monitoring of hydric resources situation. To support it, an online cloud database was
created for real-time storage of data collected by field agents and uploaded through the
application. Besides, a custom website was created to display graphically the
information, so as to provide subsidies to water managers, river basin committees and
the general public.
