Resumen:
Analyses of the structures of the silos has been highlighted in several areas of
research related to storage systems, since there is no standardization of the design of
these structures. Collapses and ruins in silos can be attributed to the fact that many
designers combine the structural calculation of these the same principle fluid reservoir
not considering, however, the friction of the stored product with the silo wall. . The
research aimed to determine the physical, mechanical and flow of granular products
(maize, millet and soybeans), with moisture contents of 10, 12 e14% (wb). Was adopted
for determining the flow properties of the methodology recommended by the British
Materials Handling Board - BMHB (1985) and data acquisition equipment used the
direct shear by translation TGS 70-140 "Jenike Shear Cell. . For the mechanical
properties was used a cell with a uniaxial compression set compression loads of 5, 10,
15, and 20kN. The results showed that the grains are characterized as easy flow, for the
experimental factor k (kexp.) presented higher values of calculated by the equations
proposed by researchers and by international standards for the Poisson's ratio calculated
for both charging as unloading, values were higher than the experimental occurring
increase with increasing moisture content, the modulus of elasticity for this experiment
and proved to be higher with increasing the moisture content of the values was an
increase in the modules;, the angle of expansion was reduction in earnings with
increasing moisture content. For the vertical stress curve (y) versus vertical
deformation (y) showed, in all the tests, similar to the theoretical behavior.
