Resumo:
The technique of coating of seeds has been used with the aim of incorporating plant
protection products, hormones, nutrients, biological agents and polymers that provide
a better performance of seeds and seedlings. In the present work has assumed bean
seed-cowpea and peanut with a commercial Polymer, manioc starch and polyvinyl
acetate, in which around the application of these materials have been incorporated into
the seed a plant extract of black pepper and the fungicide carboxin+ thiran. The
coating was characterized as the absorption of water and the physical quality,
physiological and health. The work was carried out in the Laboratory for Processing
and Storage of Agricultural Products of the UAEA /CTRN/UFCG , in Campina
Grande, PB, and was carried out in three experiments, where in the first if he studied
the absorption of water by the seed coated with these materials in concentrations of 25,
50 and 75% incorporated with the extract of black pepper
and the fungicide carboxin+thiran ratio of 25% of the volume of syrup applied; in the
second, through tests of quality physical and physiological, we opted for the best doses
of coating materials (25 and 75 %) to be used in the treatment of seeds to be stored,
which is constituted in the third experiment, which had a duration of 90 Days to the
peanut and 120 days for the beans and cowpea. In all experiments the experimental
design was completely randomized with the factors arranged in a factorial design as
each experiment. We evaluated the data obtained with the use of software Assistat and
averages by Scott-Knott test (P < 0.05). For the regression in the analysis of variance
in the study of the absorption of water, it was used the program BioEstat 5.0. On the
basis of the results it was concluded that the application of roofs in bean seedcowpea
and peanut did not affect germination, thus demonstrating its potential for
commercial use. The plant extract and the carboxin+thiran applied together with
the coating materials, also did not affect the emergence and development of the plants.
The use of coating materials allow better distribution and uniformity of syrup of
agrochemical products on the surface of the seed, giving greater worker safety.
