Resumo:
Brazil is one of the largest grain producers in the world, breaking production records
with each harvest, the need to store products is growing and does not keep up with production
growth. Silos are structures that are difficult to design due to the particularities of each
product to be stored, the stored products are capable of transmitting frictional tensions
between grains and on the walls, making it necessary to study the physical properties and flow
of the products for the inert material and in movement during the filling and emptying of the
silo. For the determination of such properties, it is necessary to study and apply the Jenike
flow type methodology, which are of relevant importance for the knowledge of the physical
and flow properties of the storable products, since it is the reference adopted for these tests
the most distinct foreign standards and the international standard ISO 11697: 2012. The
studies mentioned above help to predict the behaviour of products during handling and
processing. This project aims to: Develop a direct shearing machine by translation to
determine product flow properties in order to standardize the process, based on the Jenike
shear cell and without the influence of the operator during the test.
