Resumo:
Language is present in various social situations. Be it in the family context, religious
or professional, individuals are connected by common elements of the group linked
through the language. Language, as a phenomenon, provides the interaction
between human beings in the most diverse fields of discursive communication. In this
research, the study of the writing modality of the language was demarcated, due to
the chosen context: written communication institutionalized environment for
professional activities purposes of employees of the civil service in the Federal
University of Campina Grande. From this comprehension, with the support of the
theoretical contributions of Bakhtin Circle on language and the considerations of
Garcez (2004), Koch and Elias (2011), among others, about writing, there elected as
a research question: What do administrative civil servants of a federal public
university state about their writing experiences in an institutional environment?
Aiming to answer the questions that arose, the main goal consisted of investigating
the administrative civil servants’ experiences with writing in the institutional
environment. More specifically, the research aimed to 1) analyze the conceptions of
the writing of the civil servants involved in the research; 2) describe the experiences
with writing of professional genres reported by the collaborating servants, and 3)
identify writing activities in an institutionalized environment crossed by the use of
digital platforms. The realization of this research is justified by the relevance of
thinking about the writing practices that circulate within the University, but that are -
still - little observed, since it does not refer to the perspective of the teacher or the
student. Concerning the methodology, there was accomplished field research, with
exploratory objectives and due to the object, it took on a qualitative nature. To
generate the data, an online questionnaire was prepared as an instrument (Google
Forms), sent from August 28, 2021 to September 13, 2021 to 56 (fifty-six) technical
servants working at the Humanities Center (HC) of the Federal University of Campina
Grande (UFCG). Among these, 30 (thirty) sent answers. The results showed the
prevalence, on the part of the research collaborators, of the conception that writing
has as a communicative instrument and that the interactional notion is still shy. It was
noticed, regarding the written production, everyday experiences carried out through
professional genres. However, even in daily routine, some difficulties involved these
experiences in a way that the collaborators claimed to develop individual and
collective strategies to give support to the learning and appropriation of these genres,
which in contemporary times have used digital media. In this regard, the civil servants
pointed out that the digital platforms did not change the essence of writing, but that
these resources provide innovation in administrative practices.
