“A mulher lado a lado com o homem”: o Movimento de Integração da Mulher no Desenvolvimento MIMDE e as apropriações do feminismo em Campina Grande - PB.

Abstract

On February 11, 1971 was held in Campina Grande, the First Regional Meeting MIMDE (Movement for Women's Integration in Development). The character of event “feminist" was intended to circulate in the city, the representations that feminism of the "Second Wave" had about women; with emphasis on the possibilities of female to male gender equalization. A match that should give in all aspects: the political, economic, social and cultural. This paper therefore discusses how the said organization members women have appropriated these feminist perceptions and thus sought, through various actionsexpand the spaces where the woman. For this, use was made of documents that were produced by the organizers of the event, such as applications, menus, guidelines, lectures, speeches; as well as other accounts of the era, specifically the main media means the city: the newspaper Diário da Borborema and the Journal of Paraiba. In the analysis of the documentary corpus, we dialogue with theories and methodologies that discuss cultural issues, with emphasis on practical readings and appropriations from the representations and actions in everyday social life, namely: Roger Chartier and Michel de Certeau.
