Résumé:
Textbooks are indispensable methodological resources in the teaching-learning process. The daily
contact of the student with this source of study and research is one of the factors that stimulate us to
reflect on the forms that certain contents were and/or are applied in the classroom. This study analyzes
the History`s textbook of High School, highlighting how the texts deal with the construction and
representation of the "Indian" and how this concept has been questioned and modified in the textbook
since the implementation of the brazlian law 11.645/2008, that made it mandatory for schools the
discussion about the history and culture of indigenous peoples.
