Resumo:
The main objective of this article is to present a descriptive, critical-reflexive analysis,
based on Law 10.639 / 03, on the protagonism of the black woman in the work "A
defect of color", by Ana Maria Gonçalves (2017), and investigate the contribution of
Afro-Brazilian Literature for the formation of readers, that give visibility to this ethnic
group target of such bias and that are always presented as secondary characters in
our Brazilian literature. As a theoretical reference, we used the studies related to Law
10.639 / 2003, the studies about Afro-Brazilian Literature: Duarte (2008), of the
literary genre Romance História: Machado (1990), Bakhtin (1987) Lukács (2011),
Pessanha 2013), and D'Onofrio, (1995). Regarding the methodological approach, a
bibliographic review was done. Thus contributing and stimulating reading as a social
practice to combat racism.
