Abstract:
The studies focused on type, in the Field of the contemporaty historygrafhy, include a great
space for reflections in relation to man and woman being; and their identities, so that they can
be revised and analysed in a relationship context. So, this work seeks to solve questions about
the historical formation of the “Braúnas”/”Baraúnas” in the 1950’s and 1960’s, from the
relationships among types in the social spaces and leisure produced. It also focuses on the
identities formed for the man and woman in this social and cultural space, as well as they
were established and dissolved. This way, according to analyses based on oral sources, parish
records, pictures and songs, it gave rise three chapters named “bailes”. The first one is defíned
by the historical formation of the “Braúnas”/”Baraúnas” thorough social meetings next to the
chapei, the second one takes the terrace built between the chapei and the tavem on
consideration (that were important in the organization of leisure and social meetings), in
addition to investigating and questioning the relationships of types and identity formed
through the nine-days of devotion and prayer, the crop and holy lady event, the “boi de reis”,
the movies show-ofif and the “pano de roda”. The last one analyses the “forró” as cultural
spaces done by types and sensitivity creators, through the five senses. From this perspective,
the production of visual, hearing, touch, smell and flavor scenery, is showed in the
construction of the space as celebration. Over the chapters, it was discussed dates and
marriages, as well as their participation in the formation of the society in question along the
time. So that this study would concluded, some authors were questioned. Such as Certeau,
who reflects about history, everyday, culture, and actions in the space; Del Priore and Pinsky,
who discuss relationships among types; Hall and Pesavento, who know about identity and
sensitivity formation, respectively.
