Résumé:
The bioactivecompoundspresent in plantshavebeenexplored in
differentresearchesduetotheir superior healthproperties;
theyproceeddirectlyintotheprevention and treatmentofdisease. The
Amazonhasoneofthelargest and mostdiversebiomes, containingrichbiodiversity and a
high degreeofendemism. Amazonianfruits, in additiontohavinggreat social and
economicimportance, are sourcesofresearchthatseektohighlighttheirproperties.
However, theliteraturethatreferstotheelucidationofthebioactivecompoundspresent in
some ofthesefruitsis still scarce. Thus,
thepresentproposalsoughttocharacterizethecontentofbioactivecompounds in Açaí,
Araçá-boi, Buritirana and Jenipapo, evidencingtheirpharmaceuticalpotential. For that,
anintegrative review wascarried out, basedon a wide documental analysis,
havingscientificarticles as themainsourceofinformation. The material
wassearchedthroughtheScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO) and National
Library of Medicine (PubMed) databases. The followingwereused for thesearch
(keywords and delimiters) and theircombinationusingtheBooleanoperators AND and
OR: bioactivecompounds, Amazonianfruits, properties, Açaí, Araçá-boi, Buritirana,
Jenipapo, activity, essentialcompounds, performance pharmaceutical and herbal
medicine.Studiespublished in thelasttenyears (2012 – 2022)
thathadatleasttwooftheciteddescriptors and
necessaryinformationontheproposedtopicweresought. Afterthesearch, a total of 64
scientificarticleswereobtained, whichdemonstratedthebioactivecompoundspresent in
thestudiedplants, as well as theirrespectivebiologicalactivity and
theimportanceofusing herbal medicines. The researchedfruitspresent a range
ofbioactivecompoundswithprovenorpotentialactivities, amongwhichanthocyanins,
flavonoids, polyphenoliccomponents and carotenoids stand out. The
mainbiologicalactivitieshighlighted for theanalyzedAmazonianfruitswereantioxidant,
anti-inflammatory, antimicrobialactivity, actionagainst cardiovascular diseases and
anti-canceractivity. In thiscontext, thepharmacistacts in guidingthe safe and rational
use of herbal medicines, as well as in
thedevelopmentofstudiesaimedatidentifyingactivecompoundswithpharmaceuticalpote
ntial. The analyzedspecies are still littleexplored in theliterature, withtheexceptionof
açaí; it wasobserved for theothers a scarcityof material pointingtheircompounds and
respectiveactivities. Thus, the data presentedhereprovide subsidies for
thedevelopmentofproposals in theareaof health and the like.
