Résumé:
Education is one of the social fields that have been modified by the
presence of the media, demanding the teacher new ways of teaching, which aim the
formation of critical and more demanding students before the media contents that are
presented to them. For the development of criticality, however, professional training
is required in theoretical and practical dimensions, recognizing that media use for
education must go beyond of having them as didactic resources, conceiving them
from pedagogical purposes. Thus, this monograph has two objectives: (1) Check if
Portuguese Language teachers of the final years of the primary education from the
public and private teaching network in Campina Grande-PB use media in the
classroom and (2) If 1 is affirmative, see in which way teachers use media in their
classes: as a didactic resource or with a defined pedagogical purpose. To this end,
we performed a descriptive-interpretative research, whose corpus consisted of
questionnaires to teachers of Portuguese Language. The study was based on
authors such as Kenski (2003), Prado (2005), Coscarelli (2005), Moran (2009) and
Almeida (2007). The obtained results highlight that all teachers participating in the
survey said they make use of at least one of the five media focused on this work
(print, television, internet, radio and audiovisual). Moreover, the results observed that
both public school teachers as the private network ones use the media in a similar
way, prevailing in this case, the pedagogical use.
