Resumen:
With the advent of modernity some aspects have prisms changed many, many concepts have fallen into disuse and a lot of things have become obsolete. By following the Brazilian literature and Portuguese, we can see such changes, from customs to the languages. however, there are social units that resist from the beginning, ignoring the passage of time. The family is a social institution which is fonned by kinship, blood, or alliance in order. It is an institution that survived the passage of years, and this is the object of this work. Monitoring the development of ever more remote family a second literary work devoted decades enables us to visualize the social perspective from various angles. Therefore, allow us to draw an analytical overview of the society we live in, making a separation and analysis compared to that of the traditional family romance. This work builds on a fundamental novel by Eça de Queiroz. O Primo Basilio, so that we can substantiate our claims analytically. The said book is a novel argument, the influence of social environment on the individual. The author describes the physical space and society, and then shows how the main character reacted to them. Thus, it is expected to observe and analyze historical and literary moments compared, their changes, reactions and values, especially those that refer to family and customs.
