Resumo:
This study aims to analyze the metalanguage in Bufo & Spallanzani novel,
written by Rubem Fonseca, discussing the relationship of this with the position
of the narrator in the narrative and its use as responsible for problematization of
literary. The work is structured in two chapters. The first presents the novel Bufo
& Spallanzani, with the explanation of its structural elements, which are: the
storyline, space, time, characters and narrative focus, based on Silva (1986)
and Vidal (2000). The second chapter deals with, initially, about the
metalanguage itself, highlighting its concept and its role in the literary text, from
theoretical studies as Chalhub (1988) and Jakobson (1993) and then proceeds
to analysis of the parts of narrative in which occur the incidence of
metalanguage, observing the effect in the constitution in this novel. Following
the research method proposed and discussed in Literature by Pinheiro (2011),
the work develops through reading and reflection of the material researched
about the novel and about Fonseca in banks of tesis and dissertations, literary
supplements, magazines and other specialized sources, dialoguing with
questioning already raised when reading and rereading of Bufo & Spallanzani.
