Resumo:
This research, under the applied linguistics’ perspective, aims to identify the writing
competences according to BNTP (2011) evaluation in Portuguese Language Textbook from
Elementary School II; to describe the writing textual production activities on the TB and
analyze the treatment given to the activities of written text production on the PTB from ES II.
This work defines a qualitative-interpretative research, with documentary and descriptive
character, which has as its object of analysis a collection of Portuguese Language Textbook
from the final years of Elementary School. The analysis criteria are based on the selection of
proposed textual productions inserted in the IV unit of the 5th and 8th grade textbook and on
the development of the competence on writing that is described by the NCPs as a discursive,
linguistic and stylistic competence. To support the analysis we take as basis the contributions
of Baptist (2003), Brazil (1998), Brasilia (1998), Bunzen (2009), Marcuschi (2012),
Perrenoud (1999), Reinaldo (2003), Santos (2009), Tagliani (2001 ) among others, who deal
with the historical background of the Brazilian textbook, and especially about the Portuguese
textbook and evaluation criteria of the Brazilian National Textbook Program (BNTP) as well
as the notion of competence arising from the education, the competences on writing in
Portuguese language and the treatment given to written textual productions. In relation to the
object of the research we concluded that the analyzed textual proposals from the textbook
emphasize the linguistic competence, some prioritize the discursive competence and
practically nullify the stylistic competence and the assessment conducted by the BNTP, even
representing a significant advance, yet provides a generic approach.
