Résumé:
This research aims to study the semantic phenomenon used as argumentative
strategy in editorial genre. To study this, it is questioned: Which semantic
phenomenon is used as a strategy for the production of the editorial? What is the
functionality of this phenomenon in the production of this genre? What is the
argumentative importance of this phenomenon in meaning production conveyed by
the editorial? For this, the goal is to analyze the semantic phenomena as logical and
argumentative strategies for the editorial genre production. The corpus is constituted
by four (04) editorials, two (02) Jornal da Folha de S. Paulo Newspaper (FSP)
editorials and two (02) Jornal da Paraíba newspaper editorials, all aired in January of
the current year. In the corpus analysis, it is observed the recurrence and
functionality of the phenomena inside the text, in order to find out their importance
both in the formal and argumentative construction for the production of meaning
effects that are conveyed by the editorial. This research is based on Formal,
Enunciative and Lexical Semantics studies, which allowed a satisfactory analysis.
This research is based, mainly, on the studies of Lyons (1979); Oliveira (2001);
Cançado (2008); Muller & Viotti (2005); Pietroforte & Lopes (2005); Ducrot (1977;
1987); Marcuschi (2000 e 2008); Antunes (2005); Faria (1989). It is a descriptive,
exploratory and qualitative study. The results show that synonymy constitutes as
argumentative strategy of the editorial genre, a feature very characteristic of its
production, that has its order at arguing; and hypernym and hyponymy as important
resources for textual progression. By this result, it is concluded that these
phenomena can be a teaching tool in classes of textual production and linguistic
analysis of the editorial genre, whereas the teacher use it most effectively, showing
students how the semantic phenomena operate in the text.
