Résumé:
Early contact with the books did Rachel de Queiroz become a great writer. Consecrated
novelist, author of works such as O quinze (1930) and Memorial de Maria Moura
(1992), Rachel also highlighted the relentless publication of chronic, activity that
accompanied him throughout his career. In the case of a previously discredited and
nondescript to some critics and the few surveys and studies on this facet of Ceará genre
writer, was curiosity, challenge and desire to work the cronicário Rachel. Therefore, this
work aims in studying chronic: "Seca"; "Amor à primeira vista" and "Os filhos que eu
nunca tive" that comprise the book Cenas Brasileiras (2002) as well as studying the
recurring themes in selected chronic and chronic discuss the importance of the literary
system produced by Rachel de Queiroz. From this interpretive analysis, also identified
in addition to the stated objectives, how was the interweaving of themes like love, the
human condition and dry between chronic studied and other works of the writer. For
this study, knowledge was needed about the genre, our object of study, as well as
information about Rachel de Queiroz, thus the corpus of this research is theoretical
frameworks: Eduardo Portella (2002); Jorge de Sá (2005); Massaud Moisés (1985);
Antonio Candido (1996); Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna (2000) and Socorro Acioli
(2003)
