Abstract:
This work has got as its aims to make sure about alternative products
efficiency, the physiological and sanitary quality of beans seeds {Phaseolus
vulgaris L.) kind carioca and (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.) kind cariri in
Solanea's county, PB for six months of storage. Statistic lining all casual has
been used, with factorial arrange 9 x 6 represented by nine treatment and six
storage stages, with four repetitions. The physiological quality of seeds was
checked from the beginnig through every 30 day storage according to the
following parameters: wet intensity, infestation level, germination and
strength. By the results it was possible to conclude that the seeds of carioca
beans could keep their physiological quality, without lost of strength or
germination during all period of storage, not depending on the alternative
products application; whereas seeds of cariri beans had their physiological
quality decreased, presenting lost of strength and germination during the
storage process. Orange peel and crashed pepper were the most efficient
alternative products to hold infestation in cariri beans seeds.
