The present work was conducted in the irrigation project -São Gonçalo, belonging to the National Department of Drought Works - DNOCS, located in the municipality of Souza-Paraíba, from August 13 to September 14, 1990, with the objective of to evaluate the performance of the AJ25A1 sprinkler, adopted in the Formoso "A" C0DEVASF project, in the city of Coribe - Bahia. The tests were performed under different climatic conditions for 12 x 12 m, 12 x 18 m and 18 x 18 m , riser tube of 1.0 m and 2.0 m and pressures of 200, 250, 300 and 350 Kpa; the effects of spacing, riser height, nozzle pressure and wind velocity on distribution uniformity determined by the Christiansen method were studied. The water distribution model of a single sprinkler was considered to represent the distribution of an irrigation system. A computer program developed by the National Center for Agricultural Engineering (CENEA) was used to perform the calculations related to the superposition and determination of water distribution uniformity. Multiple linear regression equations were established to estimate the coefficient of uniformity of Christiansen, using as variables the factors studied. Based on the results of the work, to obtain coefficients above 80%, the following spacings are recommended: with risers at 1.0 m, spacings 12 x 12 m, 12 x 18 m and 18 x 18 m, should work respectively, at wind velocities <4,0, <1,2 and <1,0 m / s: and, for lifting tubes at 2,0 m, the reported event velocities are < 4.0; <1.70 and <1.20 m / s, respectively.
