Abstract:
The way of the market and the accruement on demand by rapidity on taken of decisions
they come indicating what the bookkeeping is more and more used I eat big fountain of
Information. In such a way that, it is perceived that the financial statements of the
companies are one of the instruments to measure of financial performance at the disposal
of the managers. With this, it is noted that the measures of organizational performance
need to be analyzed at each time, seeking to improve and ensure that the use of
management information is able to satisfy the needs in the decision making process. In
this context, this research aimed to ascertain the financial position of TIM Holdings S.A. in
its operations in the years 2005 to 2009 based on financial performance indicators. The
methodological framework is limited to the financial statements of the company, being
selected 20 indicators: liquidity, turnover, Debt and Profitability. Ahead of the analysis it
can be identified to which the degree of payment capacity and indebtedness of the
analyzed company, observing that the pointer that more contributes for this it was the
Current Liquidity, for disclosing that the availability of financial resources of short-term
payment of the period is good. Even according to the results obtained, the Liquidity
Drought the company proved to be capable enough to settle their debts, even without
counting their inventories. To the profitability, the index that indicates the best average
and the Gross Margin, since it represents measure of profitability of sales for the
company. Yet identified during the years 2005, 2008 and 2009, the company had its
assets TIM less than its liabilities, and that means it has more funding than investments in
these periods. Only in 2006 and 2007, TIM had a normal situation in its wad; one can
assert that its resources were adequate for their funding. We conclude that the analyzed
company exist an efficient management control in a timely manner, providing financial
results and also contributing to the organization to maintain an industry leadership.
