Abstract

This dissertation is a study about the entrepreneurial university themes, absorptive capacities and their relations with the structuring legal aspects of its innovation ecosystem. The study comprises three articles, being a theoretical essay, a bibliometric research and a qualitative and descriptive case study. In the first article, a theoretical essay was carried out about entrepreneurial universities and the relationship they have with the triple helix from the Legal Framework for Science and Technology Innovation. In the second article, a bibliometric analysis was carried out in the Web of Science database based on the term “entrepreneurial university”, using publications made between 1994 and 2021. Finally, in the third article, the absorptive capacity of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) was analyzed from the legal benefits enhanced by the Legal Framework for ST&I. The results show that innovation is more likely to be achieved from the Triple Helix Model, highlighting relevant information about the development of new studies in the field of entrepreneurial universities. It was demonstrated that the UFCG has a sectoral absorptive capacity regarding the legal benefits that derive from the ST&I Legal Framework, since the absorption takes place in sectors, nuclei and in the innovative actions that are carried out by specific people linked to this institution, despite this the UFCG is on the way to becoming an entrepreneurial university, requiring internal realignments to enable new institutional gains.
